Deaf Friendly Formatting

Deaf Friendly Formatting (DFF) is a service for the benefit of both deaf people and service providers. This service was created in recognition of the fact that a great deal of written material is inaccessible to deaf people who use British Sign Language (BSL) and not English as their first language.

We translate information and literature into an easily understandable format for deaf people to comprehend. We use a variety of different formats such as plain English, BSL grammar, signed graphics, pictorial information and symbols.

Services can email their publicity materials and other information and we can then translate this into a format required by the service and its users.
