Deaf Awareness Training

Genie Networks endeavours to work with the holistic needs of deaf people of all ages, incorporating the health and wellbeing of the deaf person, their family, education, employment and their environment. Genie Networks encourages services to acknowledge their lack of awareness and supports services in putting positive practices in to place to overcome barriers, thus giving deaf people a greater sense of citizenship.

Genie Networks provides a unique Deaf Awareness Training package specifically tailored for your organisational needs. Our aim is to support your organisation to overcome barriers for deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind people accessing your service(s). Our staff will meet with you to introduce the taining packages and explore the services you provide. Durin the free consultation our staff will create a sample package for you to discuss and adapt to suit your service requirements.

The courses are provided at a venue of your choice, we offer ½, 1 or 2 day training packages and each course can train up to 15 people at a time. Your staff will recieve Genie certificates after the training.
 
In addition to the training Genie Networks will continue to work with your organisation to support the implementation of practical changes under the Disability Discrimination Act to your services. We are available to contact after training if you require any additional information or individual support with a service user.
