Our Mission Statement:

Based within Greater Manchester, Genie Networks strives to improve the quality of life for deaf people and their families. We endeavour to actively promote citizenship by empowering deaf people and their families to develop independence and a positive perception of deafness. We aim to remove barriers that cause discrimination as it is our belief that social inclusion and the full participation in society is a fundamental human right.

Our history:
In 1996 a deaf lady called Jeannie Robinson left a legacy to deaf people and their families in Trafford. In 2004 the money was awarded to NCH The Children’s Charity to develop a service for deaf people and their families in Trafford, as a result the Genie Project was established in January 2005. In March 2007 the Genie Project became an independent charity called ‘Genie Networks’ and became a registered charity in November 2007. We are an unincorporated association and a registered charity representing deaf and hard of hearing people.

Who can use our service:
Deaf children, young people and their hearing families/carers
Individual deaf adults and/or their hearing families/carers.
We also provide support and partnership work with mainstream services. Genie Networks works in partnership with a range of other providers and organisations.
